ASHEVILLE, N.C. — An Asheville tenth grader wants to help the homeless, by donating hygiene kits.
Billy Akrivos has created a GoFundMe page for his project.
He got the idea after reading that more than 500 men, women and children experience homelessness every night in Western North Carolina.
Billy Akrivos, raising funds for hygiene kits, “I’m looking to donate about 250 kits and all of the kits will be packed by hand. Each kit will have a essential hygiene items like a toothbrush, toothpaste socks razor shaving cream.”
Billy is trying to raise $900 and has already raised more than $400.
His goal is to order the kits in November and give them to area shelters in early December.
